Martin Convery
Martin P. Convery grew up in Rahway, New Jersey. He worked at the local ACME supermarket to put himself through college. He graduated from Rutgers College in 1985 with a B.A. degree in Political Science. After graduating from college, he worked for the US Postal Service in Linden, New Jersey before heading to Widener School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware in August of 1986.
While in law school, Mr. Convery was a student attorney in the Delaware Post-Conviction Relief Clinic of Widener University School of Law, and he interned one summer with the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office in New Brunswick, New Jersey
He graduated from Widener School of Law in 1989 and was admitted to the New Jersey Bar the same year. He was a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph F. Deegan, J.S.C. Law Division, Criminal Part and to the Honorable C. John Stroumtsos, J.S.C. Law Division, Civil Part.
His practice of law over the past years has included personal injury litigation; workers' compensation; Social Security appeals, insurance defense litigation; insurance subrogation; real estate; land use planning; family law; criminal law; commercial litigation; municipal court; and bankruptcy.
In recent years, his practice of law has primarily been in personal injury litigation on behalf of plaintiffs, workers' compensation, Social Security appeals and municipal court.
Mr. Convery is a member of the Justice James H. Coleman New Jersey Workers' Compensation Inn of Court.
